When you are considering Atlanta cosmetic surgey, there is nothing more important than the qualifications of your surgeon. Doctors who are board certified in plastic surgery have been extensively trained to do these procedures; they have the knowledge, experience and qualifications to perform your cosmetic procedure.
Be sure to:
- Check the training of your doctor. Plastic surgeons who have completed a residency in plastic surgery will have received the best training.
- Check the board-certification status of your doctor – Plastic surgeons should be board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery.
- See if your surgeon belongs to the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS). ASAPS members are board certified. They also have already had significant cosmetic surgery experience and are keeping up with new medical practices.
Look at our credentials:
- Our doctors are all residency trained.
- Our doctors are all double board certified in general surgery and plastic surgery.
- Our doctors are all members of the ASAPS, and ASPS (American Society of Plastic Surgeons)
The credentials of our doctors mean that they are very experienced in the type of surgery you are considering. They will be able to discuss various alternatives with you, and tailor the surgery to your exact needs.
Surgery Center Accreditation
If you are going to have surgery in a freestanding Surgery Center (as opposed to a hospital), the Center should be certified by the AAAASF, the American Association for Accreditation of Ambulatory Surgery Facilities.
If you are going to have your procedure in a hospital, the hospital should be certified by the state and the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Health Care Organizations (JCAHO).
Certification is a rigorous process by which a hospital or surgery center is proven to provide safe and effective care.
If one of our doctors is going to perform your surgery, it will most likely be done at our certified Surgery Center. If necessary, surgery can be done at one of the local area hospitals.
- Our Surgery Center is AAAASF certified.
- Our surgeons have privileges at many of the local hospitals that have been accredited.
You and the doctor can decide on the safest and most comfortable place for your particular surgery.
